Memories Of An Omelette Leaving Us High

In talking to someone about the medicinal use of pot, I remembered
something which is quite funny in retrospect :)

I was a young teenager, and was already much interested in food and
cooking. We were visiting friends of the family at their farm. I
offered to make omelette for my parents and them, which was agreed to.
I'd spied a beautiful vegetable garden near the kitchen, and asked if
I could go collect things to add to the omelette. I was told it was no
problem.

So there was tomato, green onions, and fresh herbs. I'm sure you know
where this is going... I did NOT know what pot looks like. Young and
naive. So I picked herbs, tarragon, parsley, a few others, and,
well... Yes, that one too :)

The omelette was good. It wasn't too long before we were all feeling a
bit... Odd :) My dad asked what I'd put in the omelette, so i told
him, and our friend burst out laughing.

A few years later, one of the interview questions to work in a
restaurant i'd applied to was to recognise a bunch of fine herbs by
name. I'm glad to say that I learned my herbs shortly after the
omelette event :)
