One of My Ancestors...

I've long been interested in doing research into my ancestry. Finally,
I started digging some. Online tools are really rather handy.

I was able to trace a lot of information in fairly quick order on my
mother's side. I traced the names, wedding dates, and parents/sibbling
of my grand-parents, and their parents, and their parents before that.
A fair way back.

In fact, I was able to find out that two of my ancestors were married
on the 1st of January 1665, in Cap de la Madeleine, Nouvelle-France,
now known as Trois-Rivières, Québec. I'm pretty excited and impressed
with that. What is even more fascinating to me is that his name was...
Wait for it...

NICOLAS! Yes, nearly 350 years ago, one of my ancestor with the same
given name as mine was getting married. Nicolas Crevier de Bellerive.
He was born in 1641, died 1709. His father (Christophe), grand-father
(Nicolas), great grand-father (Hughes), and great great grand-father
(Robert) were bakers! Robert died around 1583 in France. The family
emigrated to Nouvelle-France in 1652.

My ancestor was Louise Lecoutre, but also found some info saying her
last name was La Loutre

Really fascinating stuff, that.
