Wix & the Cutest Wee Hedgehog

Wix, on occasion, comes in the house with a new toy. Only it's a
*live* toy. She brings in hedgehogs from our garden... She doesn't
hurt them, mind you (although I bet they get quite a scare).

It usualy causes a bit of a panic in the household! One just doesn't
expect a hedgehog to be in the house.

I remember hearing a huge ruccus in the kitchen, and ended up cleaning
the dining room area from blood (Wix's) and spines (the hedgehog). I

Tonight, as I was brushing my teeth, I hear my name being yelled out
quite loudly. With a mouthfull of toothpaste, I zoomed to the lounge,
thinking something was horribly wrong. And there is Wix, on her
cushion, with the ball of the hedgehog between her legs! I went to get
the camera, and by that time we had Wix moved away from her "toy".

I then went to look for my leather gloves, but couldn't find them. So
I used a clean teatowel to pick up the wee critter. By the time I
arrived in the kitchen, it was wiggling and poking its nose out. SOOO
CUTE! I adore hedgehogs and am so glad we've had a family living in
our yard for years. I just wished we found a way to let Wix leave them
be!

As it was so cute, and starting to unfurl, I went to show @elpie. We
had a "awwwww" moment, and she suggested I video the hedgehog. I
didn't think I had enough light, but grabbed the Flip on my way to the
kitchen and to release the animal. Sure enough, there was light. And
by waiting calmly and without moving, it started to wiggle and shuffle
and sniffle and unfurling. It makes for the cutest footage *ever*. There is no sound needed for this video, although the snuffling is rather endearing.

I went to deposit the hedgehog in the yard where I think he lives. In
about a minute he was unfurled, and away, apparently unharmed. And
it's over an hour past my bedtime now, but... I love the footage I
got :)
